Here are the issues that keep me up at night and what I plan to focus on in City Council:

Maximizing Affordability for Families

Families should be able to thrive without the constant worry of rising expenses or taxes. Work to maximize affordability in housing, utilities, and everyday costs, ensuring that families can live comfortably in Yakima, especially as we prepare for potential economic challenges

Connecting Yakima to More Opportunities

Expand flight routes and transportation access. This will allow more economic and labor connections between Yakima and other business hubs. It will also encourage people to move to Yakima knowing their loved ones are not too far away.

Fighting for Good Jobs and a Thriving Future

Attract a wide variety of businesses that offer fulfilling, well-paying jobs, so Yakima families can build strong, lasting futures right here at home. Even though we lose many young adults to universities outside our community, we should cultivate plenty of opportunities to draw them back home.

Prioritizing Safety and Peace of Mind

Every family should feel safe in their home and neighborhood. We must relentlessly fight crime, gangs, drugs, human trafficking, homelessness, addiction, and blight to protect our neighborhoods and children.

Making Our Green Spaces Safe and Family-Friendly

Clean up, maintain, and ensure the safety of our parks, green spaces, and natural resources so families can enjoy them without fear. Address issues like homelessness and drug activity, creating welcoming spaces for children, parents, and community members to connect with Yakima's natural beauty in a safe environment.

Helping Young People Build Strong Futures Here in Yakima

Link students and young adults to real career pathways, creating opportunities for them to succeed and thrive right here at home.
